ABOUT: Garden City sits between Boise and Eagle, and if it were not for the road signs announcing that you are leaving one and entering the other, you would never know. Garden City is a little over four square miles, but has more outdoor attractions than one would believe. It has a golf course, the greenbelt path along the Boise River, the stadium for the Boise Hawks baseball team, the Les Bois Horse Racing Track, and the fairgrounds for the Western Idaho Fair and many outdoor concerts. Garden City housing ranges from homes on the river, a large 55+ community, and lots of homes of various styles and all ages.
OUR TAKE: Garden City is one of our favorite places when the weather turns warm. We often go to an outdoor café with live local music, and after that, we walk along the greenbelt path passing beer tents and wineries to an area where people are surfing (yes surfing) in the river. The Western Idaho Fair and the concert venues during that week make Garden City a popular place for people from all over the Treasure Valley and beyond.
